One of the best experiences that I have had was playing in a  rock band...  These are some of the things I was able to learn during my tenure as 'the bass player and de-facto manager':

• Dealing With Difficult Personalities

• Multitasking
• Wearing Multiple Hats
• Leadership
• Organization and Planning Skills
• Negotiation
• Conflict Resolution
• Psychology
• Budgeting
• Resourcefulness

Just to name a few.

So go out and join a rock band - as an alternate to getting an MBA...it is a lot more fun!

Just heard a great quote by Richard Branson:  "The brave will eventually die, but the cautious would have never lived.'

Wow...  time to take some risks, be different, stand up and break whatever chains are holding you back.

WE'VE CHANGED...

Once we were makers.  Now we are users.

Think about it...

COME TOGETHER... RIGHT NOW...

Create a forum for people to come and share... to be open about ideas, thoughts, points of views.  No hierarchy - just people.  House party, happy hour, after hours sports activity...whatever it is.  Take it out of the office and its limitations.  Create a forum where people can just be.  If done organically, these will be the breeding grounds to build a team.

In order to win, you need a team.

YOUR PERSONAL BRANDING STATEMENT

Your personal branding statement needs three things:

Who you are?
What you do?
How you do it?

Answer those questions and you are on your way to personal success.

CREATE POWER FROM KNOWLEDGE

• What are you most recent achievements? Write down the trait that got you there and how you can apply those same disciplines towards your next goal.
• Make short-term and long-term goals. Make a list of 3 goals you will accomplish this month.
• Give your definition of prosperity an overhaul. Define what wealth means to you. Select an area where you need improvement (personal growth, relationships, happiness, meaning in your work or contribution to a greater cause). Make a list of small steps that will get you there.
• Successful brands start out with a strong positioning statement.  What is yours?

Do not give up on your dream. Perseverance pays.

MULTITASKING

Multitasking is a myth. The human brain negotiates between the tasks at hand, allocating a percentage amount of your rapt attention to each item… Think of a simple formula: time + attention = result

It is best to concentrate in doing a task well than in spreading yourself thin among various. Be smart with the time invested in each task and move quickly to the next one.

HOW TO HAVE SUCCESS (Or Start A Revolution!)

PASSION – noun
An intense or overpowering emotion such as love, joy, hatred or anger.
POWER - noun
The ability or capacity to perform or act effectively.
TALENT – noun
Natural endowment or ability of a superior quality.

The real secret to being successful at anything (or changing the world) is to apply our talents in ways that satisfy our passion.

Ordinary people filled with passion can accomplish extraordinary things.

Passion is powerful. It is infectious. It drives the world. One person’s passion quickly spreads.

Name people how have influenced you and you will find out that they have applied their talents in ways that promoted their passions.

What are you passions? Talents? What will bring you the greatest of accomplishments? Satisfaction and joy?

Commit to honoring your passion and acknowledging your power.
